  • I live in the US and im 100% that the area that im in has no bockers and the closest group is far into newyork but is bocking fun being alone?

Some people like to feel very unique and enjoy the public attention that bocking evokes.  If you are that type of person, you probably will still enjoy bocking alone.

  • Well, I'm in Western Australia, everyone here seems to have moved/sold/got too injured or fails to reply to any contact mails to get more than two Bockers together. This only on account of my owning two sets of bocks so I can "Phone a friend" :)
    BUT, I will keep trying!

  • For most of the five years I've been bocking I've been a Tigger and enjoy the things it allows me to do and unlike some pastimes you do alone if your out in public you'll always get someone looking, asking or watching you which can give you a buzz.
Yes bocking with others is fun but a different kind of fun, it nice to be in a group but maybe like I have found out not for everyone? I know a number of bockers who like being Tiggers.

Has for the forum members/people often don't log in but use these pages as reference and to see whats new in the world of Bock so it can look a little slow?

  • there are no bockers near me that i am aware of but that doesn't stop me from enjoying my bocks! i swapped out the bindings for Burton snowboard bindings and i'm looking into getting snowboard boots as well for added stability and comfort. with my job i don't get to go on them often but when i do i have a blast! great investment.

Well you could spend the money on candies. If I won the lottery that's what I would do! :)
After 2 years of Kangoo Jumps I decided to add another 30 cm to my height. One of the best decisions I've ever made!

  • I think the key thing here is not to think of yourself as being a lone bocker. Think of yourself as waiting for the next bocker.
Bocking alone is alright but it gets boring in a hurry because you have nobody to bounce off and push you and for you to push them.

I started with a kid in the neighbouring town and we just went out every dry weekend getting seen as much as possible and before we knew it we had 6 people, then 10 then 35 people in our club and its mental.

But you need to get more people to get stilts. Very few people will keep bocking on their own.

  • It is true that if you bock with a group you do have lots of fun but being a Tigger can be fun to.

Being with others will help you improve quicker because you'll learn from one another and even push you to try new things.
On your own you can learn at a pace you like and by reading and posting on this forum you will learn a lot. If you do something new or different, posting here we would love to here about it too.

When out in public you get a lot of attention in a group people you can stand back let someone do a trick and still get saying your amazing group of people, on your own you feel a little like Superman because of what you can do.

Just because you have not seen anyone else in your area doesn't mean their isn't I wrote a topic that may help.

I'm out on my stilts every chance I get which mean for 95% on the time I'm a Tigger and I have a great time. So to answer your question "Are bocks still worth getting?" the answer is their well worth getting.
