Hi DJ, the only reason I changed the Summer date is because nobody had made plans yet to come, and Autumn seemed like a good idea.  Any preference for a Capital Bocking USA 2013 weekend in Sept?  How about Sept 13-15 2013?

I'm moving back south again before fall. So in theory it'll work out. I think we should just set a date and not change it. I'll buy my plane ticket well in advanced this time.

This meet was looking like it'd cost nearly 500 dollars to just fly there. Which was really what stopped me from coming. If we pick a date in advanced and I'm able to get something affordable I won't have to back out.

Though I'll be moved to either Chattanooga or back to Savannah by then so driving will be an option again.

It was an unfortunate this year for meet-ups.  Sadly Mike was the only other person to come to DC and we didn't actually get a chance to meet up.  So the question is should we try to do it in Autumn again next year?

I had to cancel towards the end due to financial issues.  I'm not sure if anyone other then the locals made it to the event or not.

It looks like this years Stilt meet ups for the USA was a bust, with me being the only out of towner for Bock the South and not hearing any regulars making it to this.

It's sad.

Well, this is annoying, but the expiration of the coupon is 8/31! It would have been two nights for $30 per room at the Radisson in Washington D.C.

Oh well, I wish I could have helped out more but the expiration date really killed it.

I'm still hoping to come however. Is there any other info as to what's going on for the event?

Cool, of course the first question might be... how good of a deal?  I think we usually just cram into two or three rooms and sometimes it is last-minute.

I now work for a very fancy upscale resort and I might be able to get some stays at the Radisson in Washington D.C. for a very discounted price. I will only be able to buy these on one day however, Friday the 17th.

DC Power Stilts, I don't know if maybe we can work something out where I can get some rooms for you and you can then sell them to people who are confirmed as coming or what.

OK everyone, I feel like there were not enough RSVPs, and I am pushing this back to Sept 21-23.  We will expect nicer (cooler) weather and It gives people more time to plan ahead.  (flights hotels/etc)

Remember this is a ton of fun and is the largest annual bocking event in the USA.

Last year was so awesome so my thinking is that we'll follow basically the same itinerary.

A Friendly and fun competition,
Visiting monuments,
Capture the flag (yes on stilts)
A city Tour
Lunch in the city
A huge Party!
Public try-outs at an outdoor circus

Although all of our museums are free, it makes for a popular destination and you do always have to pay for the hotel.  If anyone finds a better deal let me know.  I would caution you as some of the cheapest hotels look good on the internet but are actually a bit sketchy or hard to get to.  If you send me your flight details, I might be able to pick you up at the airport.  The closest airports are: DCA (on the DC subway), BWI and IAD.
