Tool kit

(1/1)

Dark Knight:
I have added a couple of nuts and washers and string to this kit.
The nuts can replace missing nuts. This happened to someone last year at a meet.
The washers can be used to fix a strap that snaps off the plastic pivot, the washer holds the strap on.

Yes it may sound a little over kill but if one person at a meet carries a small repair kit then any ones stilts.

Dark Knight:
I wouldn't say over kill if your at a meet.
I say it's better to have something you do need than need something you don't have !

Has I said just the other week at a meet I fixed:-

A Boot/Sox bike tire, when the cable tie snapped
A missing nut was fixed with sticky tape ?
Adjusted two ( different ) pairs of stilts bars/cuffs with the spanners.
And opened a bottle of beer LOL

This kit cost a couple of pounds most of the tools come from a shop called " Poundland " where everything is just a pound !

XarnuSonci:
this is a bit overkill, depending on what bocks you have you adjust everything easier with less tools.  Working nuts and bolts with multitool pliers is just asking for a rounded bolt.  When I had Powerisers I used to carry a pair of small adjustable open end wrenches, an allen wrench and a small screw driver bit.  Now that I have CZ's I just carry 2 allen wrenches and the screw driver.

Dark Knight:
While out for the day bocking you may have to adjust or repair your stilts so a tool kit would be handy.
I can up with a tool kit which can do most adjustments and repairs that fits in a packet.

Two simple and cheap multi-tools like these are really all you need. I was lucky that I found the spanners tip fit the allen keys heads so I do not need to carry one ( you may need one ). By using the two spanners most nuts and bolts and even allen keys bolts can do adjusted.
You don't need the blue knife but the blades are better than the multi-tools they are also replaceable.
I've alone show small cable ties has I'm showing how little you need take, you can fit two together to make longer one. They are not strong but a quick fit. You could always carry a couple of bigger ones if you wish.
The super glue is in a hard plastic tube so will not leak if squashed.
The stick tape finishes off the kit !

A simple basic kit but useful anyway. It may not fix everything but should cover most problems. At a meet last weekend it came in very handy for a number of people. I had to laugh when someone got out a small box of tools, my kit could be fitted in the gap in their box !
