Disabled bockers
Thomas:
I'll definitely be vid-logging as much as I'm able, but don't look for anything miraculous. I've adapted well enough and the repair surgeries were marvelous, so no one would know anything were wrong unless I wore shorts and sandals (or saw me run for more than a dash.)
Thanks for all the support, guys.
Locky:
Thomas can I ask you to document this as much as possible, either with some sort of blog or video series.
I find it truly amazing. I'm not terribly surprised if you get good results but that doesn't make it any less amazing.
I'd love to hear your story from start to finish :)
Thomas:
Amen to that!
DK you've been a real inspiration, reading how you've dealt with your injury - I think I've read every post you've made on this forum and tried to keep up with things on the projump forum too.
Dark Knight:
Nothing wrong with raising the dead, it's helps that people can read what's been posted in the past before repeating it ?
Glad your enjoying yourself. Bocking doesn't real build lower leg muscle but will help with joints and correcting your posture and alignment when walking. Most people find they improve when they start bocking.
When your out bocking you'll not be that person with a bad leg you'll be that amazing person on STILTS :)
Thomas:
Due to how slow these forums have been, a bit of necromancy is necessary unless I'm just going to start new threads all over the place.
I was born with a club foot, and have had to re-learn how to walk after various surgeries gradually corrected the bones back to what is nearly normal. My right foot and calf is still very under developed, and any exercise like jogging or even biking causes my left to painfully overcompensate.
A few years ago I thought about what sort of contraption would let me bypass this problem, but it was a fleeting idea that mostly involved me creating something. Eventually I discovered bocking and my research paid off. I got suggestions and advice from a few members of the community, and my 7Leagues came in a week or two ago.
I'm still trying to get all the straps and cuffs fitted just right, but I have already been amazed at how intuitive these springs are. I was up and walking in minutes, and am still waiting for my first fall (I have all the pads and have been studying all of your excellent posts and vids on how to stand back up).
